The protagonist of the story, Beet, is a young boy who becomes a Vandel Buster to be like his heroes, the Zenon Warriors. Humans can fight back by becoming a Vandel Buster, a paid monster and Vandel assassin. The story takes place in a fantasy world where humans have been suffering from the attacks of the demon-like Vandels. The manga was published in Shueisha’s Monthly Shōnen Jump in Japan until the illustrator Inada became ill.

It doesn't leave a bad taste but definitely wouldn't feel like watch it again.Beet the Vandel Buster is a manga and anime series written by Riku Sanjo and illustrated by Koji Inada. Having that much in mind - Excellion became boring. For those that expected some follow up of the main story it's a big disappointment. Out a freaking blue, due to some "forced" circumstances, the whole team forgets about their dreams and goals and decides to grow roots in one place for the whole 25 episodes. No more experience points and guilds, no ranks, no more adventures An entirely different set of allies and enemies. No, maybe a GIANT filler fits it better.Īll ideas and setups that made the 1st that much interesting are basically abandoned in this season. The 2nd season fails as a sequel up to a point that it could be even called a side story. That is why i don't fully understand this continuation. The prequel provided great introduction to the world and left the story at fairly interesting point. Let me state first that i had a great expectations of 2nd season of this anime.
